Episode 67: Jehovah Sabaoth
Monday Jun 09, 2025
Monday Jun 09, 2025
Join Lisa and Laura for our series Names of God. In biblical times, names were of great importance—they conveyed a person’s essence, history, nature, or character. As we explore the various names of God in the Old Testament, we gain insight into His character. With each name, we will learn a new attribute, deepening our understanding of and growing closer to God. In today’s episode, we explore our fifth name, Jehovah Sabaoth—the Lord of Hosts or the God of the armies of Israel. The word “sabaoth” is used to refer to a host of angels or a celestial army. It’s the name we can turn to when we feel like we are under spiritual attack or we are utterly at the end of our resources. Can you relate? We thought so. Grab your Bible and settle in; we know you are going to love this episode.

Invite Him in with this episode’s questions for reflection.
- Are you feeling outnumbered or overwhelmingly alone in a battle? If you are, pray with the words from Scripture: Open my eyes, Lord, that I may see.
- Think back to a time you felt alone in battle and look for evidence of God's army of angels surrounding you.
Bonus question: Do you have an angel you pray to? A guardian angel? An archangel? Tell us in our Facebook group.
