Hope for Right Now Podcast – Truth with Handles: How to Stop Worrying about the Future
When you’re navigating life’s challenges, you don’t need truth dumped all over you or shouted at you all at once; you need practical, faith-filled wisdom and Bible verses for everyday struggles. At Walking with Purpose, we call this “truth with handles”—biblical truths you can actually hold onto and provide relief from your pressure points.
Each week during our six-week series, Truth with Handles, Laura shares a new topic with a corresponding Scripture passage, breaking it down into actionable, hope-filled steps to strengthen your faith and bring peace to your daily life.
Today's topic: How to Stop Worrying about the Future. If you join the many women who lie awake at night worrying about a future problem that might never happen, this is the episode for you. You’ll discover what’s at the root of your anxiety and learn three simple things you can start doing today to decrease your worrying and increase your peace.
Open your Heart to our key Scripture.
Matthew 6:34: Therefore, do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Let the day’s own trouble be sufficient for the day.
Open your Bible to other Scriptures referenced in this episode.
James 4:14: You do not know about tomorrow.
Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Philippians 4:13: I can do all things in Him who strengthens me.
Isaiah 43:2: When you pass through the waters I will be with you; and through rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.
2 Corinthians 10:5: We destroy arguments and every proud obstacle to the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ.
Invite Him in with this episode’s questions for reflection.
If you are feeling worried, anxious, or afraid, ask yourself, “Where is my focus?”
What specific fears or "what-if" scenarios are you clinging to? Sit in the silence and ask God for the strength to stay in the present, and then thank Him for the grace for the present moment.

Episode 73: Mother
Monday Jul 21, 2025
Monday Jul 21, 2025
Join Lisa and Laura for Unshakable Identity. During these four weeks we look at four different aspects of our identity as women and the corresponding characteristics of our feminine genius. As daughter, it’s sensitivity. As sister, it’s generosity. As bride, it’s receptivity. As mother, it’s maternity. Our goal is that as we explore each of these, we will gain a better understanding of our true identity. In this final episode, Lisa and Laura dive into the fourth aspect of our identity: motherhood. You do not have to have biological children to be a mother, because mother is the very essence of femininity. We are all mothers and our maternity is a gift we are called to offer widely and generously. This is an episode for every woman longing to mother or be mothered.
Open your Heart to our key Scripture.
John 19:7: Behold, your Mother.
Open your Bible to other Scriptures referenced in this episode.
Ephesians 4:15: Speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.
Luke 11:27: Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts that you sucked!
Luke 11:28: Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it.
Invite Him in with this episode’s questions for reflection.
What does "spiritual motherhood" mean to you? Have you had the experience of being a spiritual mother or have you been spiritually mothered?
How might the Lord be calling you to cultivate a spiritual mothering presence in your community, whether it's within your church, workplace, or neighborhood?
Ask the Lord for the name of a person you are called to mother.

Episode 72: Bride
Monday Jul 14, 2025
Monday Jul 14, 2025
Join Lisa and Laura for Unshakable Identity. During these four weeks we look at four different aspects of our identity as women and the corresponding characteristics of our feminine genius. As daughter, it’s sensitivity. As sister, it’s generosity. As bride, it’s receptivity. As mother, it’s maternity. Our goal is that as we explore each of these, we will gain a better understanding of our true identity. Today, Lisa and Laura dive into what it means to be a bride. In the Old Testament, God is referred to as Israel’s divine husband, and in the New Testament, Jesus is described as the Church’s bridegroom. What is experienced corporately, we can also experience personally, because of the intimate love God has for each one of us. Do you thirst to be loved? Of course you do! Grab a cold drink and settle in. Your faithful Spouse has a word for His bride (that’s you!).
Open your Heart to our key Scripture.

Open your Bible to other Scriptures referenced in this episode.
2 Timothy 2:13: If we are faithless, he remains faithful.
Romans 5:8: But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Hosea 2:16: Therefore, I will allure her now; I will lead her into the wilderness and speak persuasively to her.
2 Corinthians 5:17: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Ephesians 5:25: Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.
Matthew 9:14–15: Then the disciples of John came to him, saying, “Why do we and the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not fast?” And Jesus said to them, “Can the wedding guests mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them?”
John 3:29: He who has the bride is the bridegroom; the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly at the bridegroom’s voice; therefore this joy of mine is now full.
Revelation 22:17: The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let him who hears say, “Come.” And let him who is thirsty come, let him who desires take the water of life without price.
Invite Him in with this episode’s questions for reflection.
How have you experienced God protecting and providing for you as a loving Husband?
In what ways might you spurn the love of Jesus? What pulls you away from Him? What tempts you to look elsewhere for help, hope, and fulfillment?
